Dark. Weird.
Curtis(Michael Shannon) live a happy life with his loving wife(Jessica Chastain) and hearing impaired daughter. However, Curtis starts have apocalyptic visions, and decides to build a storm shelter in the back yard, without discussing it with his wife. His erratic behavior brings tension in his marriage, and with others in the community. But are these visions just thoughts in his head, or a sign of impending doom?
